A few things about what a Freemason is, and what it is not. We are not a secret society. We are not a society with secrets either. Some of the degree work that we do is regarded as private, and the rituals are designed to teach its new members moral lessons. Freemasonry is simply about making good men into better men. There is no vast treasure buried under the Temple. Do not be misled by movies.

Freemasonry is not a religion. We are not a Christian organization. Masonry brings together men of all faiths and backgrounds. Even the longest journey begins with the first step. The first step in Masonry is to ask a Mason to be one. We do not recruit; this is a choice you have to make for yourself. It is simple; to be one, ask one.
